Volleyball Dealt 3-0 Setback at Bloomfield



Goldey-Beacom went head on with a Bloomfield squad that was playing for first place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's North Division and was dealt a 3-0 interdivisional setback (9-25, 19-25, 19-25) in Bloomfield, NJ.
 
The Bears in the opening set notched a 14-3 kills advantage with just three errors that led to a .379 hitting percentage.  Overall, the home side closed with a 37-16 kills edge and a .204 percentage.
 
Senior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR) closed with 13 digs and now is at 1,134 career, remaining sixth in team annals.  Rylen Carroll (Monroe, OH) dished 13 assists and fellow freshman Savannah Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) pounded five kills for GBC (8-19, 4-13 CACC).
 
Junior Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) had two kills and now is at 970 career, moving her into sole possession of third place in school history.  Junior Julia Syrdahl (Basking Ridge, NJ) ended with five blocks, advancing her into fifth place in team history with 187 career.  She also had three kills and is at 618 career, keeping her in 10th place.
 
Jaizahir Marreo ended with 12 kills and a .417 percentage, Esther Dogbe pounded 10 kills, Lauryn Hansford dished 30 assists and Karla Burgos added 11 digs for the Bears (11-7, 10-5).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home next Wednesday for Senior Night against Holy Family.  Match time is at 7:00 pm.
