Goldey-Beacom put up a battle Tuesday as it faced ninth-ranked Wilmington (DE) University, falling 4-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.
The Wildcats jumped to a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute on a goal from Shawn Genus, who took advantage of a shot rebounded off the post. The Lightning held the Wildcats to a single goal in the first half behind saves from goalie junior Pedro Santolaya (Madrid, Spain) recording 10 saves and as a team forcing corner kicks on the Wildcats. 
The Wildcats did not let up in the second half after a 48th-minute goal off a rebound from defender by Marius Skattum Dahl lifted the lead 2-0. The Wildcats (10-0-1, 4-0 CACC) scored two more goals, one in the 73rd minute from Carson Talboys off a corner kick from Richard Thompson 3-0, and the final one by Dimitris Passalis in the 77th minute.
Santolaya recorded a season-best 15 saves for the Lightning (2-6, 1-3).
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday travels to Secaucus, NJ to face Nyack for a 3:15 pm match.
