Neyshlian Roman Concepcion Reaches 1,000 Career Digs in Volleyball’s Loss at Dominican (NY)



The inevitable became reality for Goldey-Beacom senior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR), who expectedly reached 1,000 career digs in her squad's tough 3-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (25-23, 22-25, 25-27, 25-14, 12-15) at Dominican in Orangeburg, NY.
 
Roman Concepcion has been a beyond vital player for the Lightning during her two years and that continued, becoming the ninth player in school history to reach this mark and the first to do so in just two seasons.  She entered today third in the country with 6.44 digs per set.
 
Roman Concepcion ended the match with a career-best 37 digs and now stands at 1,030, moving her into eighth place in team history.
 
Freshman Piper Nanouski (Ottawa, IL) closed with 15 kills and 12 digs for her fourth double-double of the season, juniors Julia Syrdahl (Basking Ridge, NJ) and Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) notched 14 kills apiece, freshman Rylen Carroll (Monroe, OH) dished 42 assists and senior Courtney Bublitz (North East, MD) added 13 digs for the Lightning (7-15, 3-9 CACC).
 
Emmalyn LaPier amassed 20 kills and 14 digs, Kaitlyn Carr notched 16 and 16 with Lily Ainsworth adding 38 assists for the Chargers (5-15, 3-8).
 
Goldey-Beacom next Wednesday hosts Wilmington, beginning at 7:00 pm.
