Goldey-Beacom fell to a 4-3 defeat on Senior Day on Saturday to Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup on Sawin Field.
The Lightning took the lead in the seventh minute after goal from senior Alejandro Varela (Cali, Colombia) netted in on a cross from the right side from junior Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil), Varela's fourth goal of the season, for the 1-0 lead.
In the 26th minute, Coimbra beat the goalie to the ball, dropping a header in net off a 60-yard pass from junior Alejandro Sanchez (Madrid, Spain), Coimbra's fourth goal of the season, holding onto a 2-0 heading into halftime.
The Golden Falcons in the 57th minute found their way in net when Ben Batson beat the goalie to the ball, on a cross from Raul Abellan, 2-1. In the 59th minute, Abellan netted one in on a cross from Carlos Alonso, to tie the game 2-2.
Goldey–Beacom took the lead once more in the 63rd minute on a goal from freshman Oliver Person (Ski, Norway) netted off a lead pass from Coimbra, Person's second goal of the season, 3-2.
Felician tied the game at the 69th minute when Abellan scored on a cross from Alonso once more, 3-3. Felician's Real Nix was able to beat the goalie to the save in the 89th minute, on a cross from Paulo Santos to gain the victory over Goldey-Beacom.
Junior Pedro Santolaya (Madrid, Spain) recorded four saves for the Lightning.
Goldey-Beacom hosts West Chester University on Wednesday in a non-conference game starting at 3:30 PM.
