Goldey-Beacom had several player contributions in a 5-1 non-conference victory on Wednesday over The College of Staten Island on Sawin Field.
The Lightning attacked first in the 22nd minute after a 30-yard drive by junior Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) drilled in net, assisted by freshman Alex Alquier (Stockholm, Sweden) for the 1-0 lead. It was Coimbra's third goal of the season.
Lightning struck again in the 23rd minute after freshman Patrick Short (Georgetown, Del.) netted one off a cross from Alquier, Short's second goal of the season, 2-0.
In the 32nd minute, sophomore Tumi Sekhampu (Midrand, South Africa) dropped one in the goal off a lead pass, cross from freshman Oliver Person (Ski, Norway), Sekhampu's third goal of the season, lifting the Lightning 3-0 in the first half.
Goldey–Beacom was not done there as a 68th minute goal from sophomore Abdoul Konate (New Castle, Del.) netted in off a cross from Coimbra, 4-0.
The Dolphins found their way in goal in the 81st minute when Larry Diggs was able to nail one in, 4-1.
The Lightning were not finished yet with a final header goal from sophomore Daniel St. Cyr (Straengnaes, Sweden) sealed the Dolphins fate, assisted off a corner kick from Person, for the 5-1 victory.
Freshman Zander Omans (Camden, Del.) recorded six saves for the Lightning.
Goldey-Beacom has its Senior Game on Saturday as they host Felician University in a CACC matchup starting at 2:30 PM.
