Cross Country Gets Three More Picked for CACC Weekly Honors

Another strong showing for Goldey-Beacom's cross country teams meant more awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with junior Peter Woelfl (Heilbronn, Germany) named the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, Michael Marioni (Glendora, NJ) picked to the Men's Weekly Honor Roll and fellow freshman Ny'Jashia Smith (Wilmington, DE) tabbed to the Women's Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Woelfl closed fourth at the Delaware Invitational in 28:12.8 and Marioni ended 11th in 29:25.5.  All of this led to yet another solid performance in which the Lightning finished the meet second.
 
Woelfl on September 7 second also was picked CACC Runner of the Week, one week before being named to the Weekly Honor Roll.  Marioni's honor was his second after being named on September 21 the CACC Rookie of the Week.
 
Smith continued her strong freshman campaign by ending 14th at the Delaware Invitational, finishing in 25:49.9.  This went a long way to the team closing third.
 
Smith on September 28 also was picked to the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Goldey-Beacom this Saturday heads to Gettysburg, PA for the Aubrey Shenk Invitational.  The men's race is at 10:30 and the women go at 11:30 am.
