Goldey-Beacom alums Chahin Aghrim, Artur Zvinchuk and Manuela Cornejo all joined forces to help create a new app that has just been approved for launch on the Apple and Google Play Stores.

The app is entitled Youpendo, a tool that looks at the internet as a harness for positivity.  The theme through this app is that every day, people actively would commit to using kindness to make someone's day by sharing a positive comment with a stranger, whether it was someone in the service industry or someone on the street.

This comes after Aghrim and Zvinchuk created SmartStudents, a mobile app which help students save an average of $350 a year buying and selling textbooks by making connections with students from their school.  They built the company from their dorm room during their time as student-athletes and it continues to prosper after graduation.

The two aforementioned were key players for four years, both competing on the 2017 squad which won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference title and won its first-round game in the NCAA Tournament.  The victory over No. 10 Merrimack marked the College's first win by a male team in a head-to-head NCAA Tournament game.

GBC (17-5-1, 9-2-1 CACC) in 2017 broke the school record for most victories overall and in conference and played on a national stage for the first time since competing in the 2002 NAIA National Tournament.  The Lightning also had a 10-game unbeaten streak (9-0-1) and a four-game shutout streak, both school records.

Aghrim was a key member in being picked first team CoSIDA Academic All-America and first team CCA All-America.  He graduated second in team history with 28 assists, fourth with 68 points and fifth with 20 goals.

Zvinchuk was a valuable midfielder and helped galvanize the unit with his great leadership.  He was a three-time member of the league's Academic Honor Roll and made 72 starts over his four years, including all 41 of the Lightning's contests his last two campaigns.

Cornejo played a massive role for the women's tennis team that started during the 2014-15 season as a player and continued into the 2019-20 campaign as a mentor.  One of the finest team leaders one will see in any sport, Cornejo brought solid competitiveness as a player and a welcoming enthusiasm off the court that has been missed.

Cornejo during her playing days helped the Lightning to two CACC Championships (2016-17) and three NCAA Tournament appearances (2017-19).  The 2019 squad advanced to the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament and closed 44th in the final national poll.

She also was a three-time member of the league's Academic Honor Roll.
