Baseball Splits a Pair with Frostburg State



Goldey-Beacom split a pair of games with Frostburg State, taking game one 2-1 and falling in game two 1-0 in Cary, NC.

In game one, the Lightning got things rolling in the third inning when sophomore Mason Maxwell (Newfield, N.J.) hit a double, stole third and then scored off a passed ball.

In the seventh inning Tevin Thomas (Dover, Del.) was hit by a pitched and then advance to second on a sacrifice by fellow senior Justin Hill (Seaford, DE). Thomas went on to score off of a single by senior Cole Collins (Laurel, Del.) to win the game 2-1.

Junior Bailey Spence (Newark, Del.) gave up one run, four hits and had six strike outs with three walks for Goldey-Beacom.

Frostburg State took game two 1-0. Sophomore Connor Megginson (Harbeson, Del.) and senior Zach Roseman (Wilmington, Del.) each had one hit for the Lightning. Junior Mitch Guerrieri (Greentown, Pa.) gave up one run, four hits and had three strikeouts for Lightning.

Goldey-Beacom is back in action on February 29 for a doubleheader against Millersville at in Hockessin, DE.
