Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Cruises to 6-1 Victory Over Nyack

Senior Jenna Fannon (Newark, DE) kept up her scoring prowess by netting two goals with junior Abbey Lombard (Lancaster, NY) getting a goal and two assists for Goldey-Beacom, which is unbeaten in its last three matches thanks to a 6-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Nyack at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

Goldey-Beacom got on the board in the 24th minute when junior Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) was taken down in the box and sophomore Jackie Ayers (Rising Sun, MD) converted the penalty kick for a 1-0 lead.  Kristoffersen then tallied in the 31st minute, converting Lombard's through ball for her fifth goal of the season.

The Warriors got one back in the 38th minute when Lea Zehringer converted Shanice Rapp's pass on a 15-yard shot, making it 2-1.

The second half was all Goldey-Beacom, which netted four goals and posted a 20-1 shots edge for its seventh straight victory in the series.

Junior Kiera Young (Havre de Grace, MD) in the 62rd minute was the first to tally in the half on Ayers' assist and Fannon then scored on a 15-yard blast off Lombard's pass for a 4-1 margin.  Lombard then converted a header off Young's long ball in the 70th minute and Fannon completed her brace in the 88th minute with junior Taylor Owen (Pittsburgh, PA) getting the assist.

Fannon's 20 career goals already puts her eighth in school history and her 48 points is good for sole possession of ninth place in team annals.  All six of her goals this season have come in the last three games with five in the last two matches.

Kristoffersen attempted five shots with freshman Noel Talbot (Marriottsville, MD) not having to make a save for the Lightning (2-2-2, 2-0-1 CACC), who ended with a 28-3 shots edge.

Nicole Benesch made 12 saves for the Warriors (1-5, 1-2).

Goldey-Beacom next Wednesday hosts New York Tech, beginning at 3:00 pm.
