Jenna Fannon’s Hat Trick Lifts Women’s Soccer to 7-1 Rout of Chestnut Hill

Senior Jenna Fannon (Newark, DE) recorded her first collegiate hat trick, including two goals during a five-goal second half that lifted Goldey-Beacom to a 7-1 triumph over Chestnut Hill at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

The Lightning (1-2-2, 1-0-1 CACC) held a 2-0 halftime lead when the scoring was taken to another level.  Junior Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) started it just 3:24 into the second half, converting a pass from sophomore Melayna Immediato (Hockessin, DE) for a 3-0 game.  After Genna DiRugeris made it 3-1 in the 55th minute, Immediato scored a spectacular goal off a 40-yard dribble and close shot in the 67th minute for a 4-1 contest.

Fannon in the 84th minute got her second of the game, benefitting from a long dribble thanks to junior Kiera Young (Havre de Grace, MD) to make it 5-1.  Kristoffersen in the 85th minute collected her first collegiate brace, taking a pass from junior Ali Henriquez (Jersey City, NJ) and netting her fourth goal of the season.

Fannon completed her hat trick in the 88th minute, scoring off a long pass from junior Kelly Mejia (State College, PA) for her fourth goal of the season and the final.

Henriquez scored 20 seconds into the match as she and Young ended with two assists apiece.  Fannon had seven shots as part of the Lightning's 29-7 edge and freshman Noel Talbot (Marriottsville, MD) made one save for her first collegiate win.

DiRugeris and Maddie Jimenez had three shots apiece and Amanda Ianniciello recorded 11 saves for the Griffins (2-3, 0-2)
