Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Defeats Chestnut Hill, 4-1

Goldey-Beacom defeats Chestnut Hill, 4-1, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match up in Wilmington, DE.

Goldey-Beacom struck first when Ethan Maguire (Sydney, Australia) crossed the ball into the box and Josh Moody (Townsend, Del.) hit the bottom right corner to put the Lightning up 1-0 early in the first half.

Chestnut Hill continued to battle and equalized the game, 1-1, in the 41st minute when Luciano Torres crossed the ball into the box for David Cortez to finish it.

The score remained tied at the end of the first half. The Lightning outshot Chestnut Hill 7-6 in the first half.

Goldey-Beacom struck first again in the second half when Levi Maruca (Downingtown, Pa.) passed the ball to Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) who beat the goalie one on one to place the ball in the back of the net.

The Lightning continued their momentum when Elijah Howe (Canberra, Australia) fired the ball into the lower right corner to put Goldey-Beacom ahead 3-1. Chestnut Hill continued to battle but Abdoul Konate (New Castle, Del.) had a one on one and placed the ball in the back of the net to put the Lightning up, 4-1, to win the game.  

Chestnut Hill outshot Goldey-Beacom in the second half 6-3.

Coimbra had four shots and Nicolas Jaramillo (Cali, Colombia) had two shots for the Lightning. Cole Lewis (Middletown, Del.) had one save for Goldey-Beacom.

David Cortez had four shots and Pedro Dutra had three shots for Chestnut Hill. Frank Maniscalco had one save for Chestnut Hill.

Goldey-Beacom is back in action on Saturday against Nyack at 3:30pm in Wilmington, DE.
