Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Falls, 3-1, at Daemen

A trip to see the beauty of Western New York provided a great getaway and team-bonding experience, but Goldey-Beacom fell short on the scoreboard in being handed a 3-1 loss at Daemen in Amherst, NY.

The Lightning found themselves in a 1-0 hole in the 17th minute when Sam Hanes found the back of the next off a feed from Lindsay Ciarmella.  The home side then buried a crushing tally with 21 seconds remaining in the half when Jamie Boyar tallied for a 2-0 margin.

Goldey-Beacom got back into it in the 53rd minute when junior Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) netted her first goal of the season and four career, thanks to an assist from sophomore Jackie Ayers (Rising Sun, MD), for a one-goal deficit.

But the Wildcats all but ended things in the 75th minute when Boyar completed her brace off Hanes' pass for the final.

Kristoffersen attempted six shots and freshman Noel Talbot (Marriottsville, MD) made nine saves for the Lightning (0-2-1).

Boyar had 10 shots, Hanes recorded seven and Maddie Flores ended with eight saves for Daemen (4-0).

Goldey-Beacom next Saturday begins Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Caldwell as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.  Please note the men's team plays first at 11:00 am, followed by the women's contest at 1:30 pm.
