Baseball Falls Twice to Millersville

Goldey-Beacom battles hard for two games against Millersville but is handed a pair of losses, 11-1 and 15-4 in Philadelphia, PA.

In game one Millersville took the lead and never looked back. Cole Friese, Dominican Hardaway and Nick Graham were the biggest culprit. Friese and Hardaway both had two homeruns and three RBI. Graham had two homeruns and four RBI for Millersville.

In the bottom of the seventh, Jeff Gillis had an RBI bringing Cole Collins (Laurel, Del.) in off a single to right field. Collins had the only run for the Lightning.

Mitch Guerrieri (Greentown, Pa.) (0-1) pitched five innings, giving up five runs and he had five strike outs.

Eli Nabholz (3-1) pitched five innings with six strike outs and didn't allow any runs.

In game two, Millersville went up 10-0 in the first five innings. 

The Lightning continued to battle. At the bottom of the fifth inning, Goldey-Beacom had bases loaded with only one out. Junior Justin Hill (Seaford, Del.) hit a single through the left side, Brandon Abdul (Old Bridge, N.J.) followed with a sacrifice fly and Tevin Thomas (Dover, Del.) hit a single to right field each with a single RBI.

Millersville added to their 10-3 lead in the top of the sixth inning with five more runs. Millersville went on to win game two 15-4.

Ben Synder batted 4-for-4 with five RBI for Millersville. Drew Miller (3-1) pitched 4.2 innings allowing three runs and had two strike outs for Millersville.

Abdul pitched four innings giving up seven runs and had three strike outs for Goldey-Beacom.

Goldey-Beacom is back in action on Saturday in a doubleheader against Millersville at noon in Philadelphia, PA (La Salle University).
