Jake Trejo Picked CACC Pitcher of the Week

Goldey-Beacom senior Jake Trejo (Wauseon, OH) put together yet another strong outing in being tabbed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Trejo went 2-0 on the week, striking out 11 and allowing just one run and nine hits over nine innings. He was on his game Saturday at Bloomfield, notching a career-best 10 strikeouts and yielding just one run and eight hits over eight innings in Goldey-Beacom's 6-1 triumph.

Trejo has been one of the Lightning's most reliable players since the program's reincarnation in 2017. He exploded last year over 17 games to end 23rd in the league with three wins, 45th with 37 2/3 innings and 77th with 20 strikeouts. In 2017, he was tabbed a Division II Newcomer to Watch by Collegiate Baseball and threw the first pitch for the team in school history.

Goldey-Beacom on Monday is at Felician. The two teams will go at it again Friday in a noon doubleheader at Doyle Field in Hockessin.
