Two for Basketball Pick Up CACC Weekly Honors

Goldey-Beacom got two more honors from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with junior Kyle Elliot (Rahway, NJ) named the league's Men's Basketball Player of the Week and sophomore Sarah Round (Northampton, England) picked to the Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Elliot averaged 22.0 points on 18-of-26 shooting with seven rebounds, six steals, five assists and four 3-pointers over two games. He had a career game Tuesday against Adelphi in his first contest of the season, netting 32 points on 13-of-13 shooting in Goldey-Beacom's 83-75 victory. Elliot also had three 3-pointers, four rebounds and three free throws over just 29 minutes.

In Goldey-Beacom's 72-54 victory Sunday at New York Tech, Elliot had 12 points, four assists and three rebounds.

Elliot has not played in enough games this season to qualify for the national or conference stats, but he made a statistical impact last season in helping the Lightning reach the CACC semifinals. He closed 18th in the CACC with 37 steals, 18th with a .482 shooting percentage, 19th with 70 assists and 31st with 29.1 minutes per contest.

Round scored 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting with five 3-pointers and two rebounds Tuesday against Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Round this season is 79th in the nation with 2.50 three-pointers per game, 24th in the league with 10.5 points per contest and 10th with a .370 three-point percentage. Last season, she ended 45th in the country with 74 three-pointers and 54th with 2.47 three-pointers per game.

Both teams return to action Wednesday with the women playing at Bridgeport and the men hosting the District of Columbia.
