Goldey-Beacom Gets Two on the CACC Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Another strong start for Goldey-Beacom's basketball teams have placed senior Amanda McGrogan (Mount Laurel, NJ) on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll and freshman Jesiah West (Elizabeth, NJ) on the Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

McGrogan scored 16 points to go with three rebounds, three assists and two steals Wednesday against the District of Columbia.

McGrogan looks for yet another strong campaign after ending last season picked second team All-CACC, selected to the CACC All-Tournament Team and ending first in the league with 17.8 points per contest. She presently is 10th in school history with 973 points, fourth with 248 assists, 10th with 84 three-pointers and 10th with 227 free throws.

West averaged 19.0 points on 14-of-28 shooting, 7.0 rebounds per contest, 2.5 steals per game and 2.5 blocks per contest. He had a monster game Saturday against regional-power Franklin Pierce, scoring 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting with six rebounds, three steals and two blocks. West also had 15 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals Wednesday vs. Saint Thomas Aquinas.

West is averaging 17.5 points per game in the young season, already sixth best in the conference, and 7.5 rebounds per contest that have him ninth.

The men's team is in action Wednesday at West Chester for a 7:00 pm contest. The women do not play again until Tuesday, November 26 against Saint Thomas Aquinas at 6:00 pm.
