Przywara and Balderson Climb the Record Books in Volleyball’s 3-2 Loss to Felician



Juniors Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ) and Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) each made their ascent in the record books, but Goldey-Beacom left the Jones Center with a tough 3-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (25-23, 22-25, 25-17, 21-25, 8-15) to Felician in Wilmington, DE.
 
Goldey-Beacom in the third set looked in command with a 13-7 kills edge and a .265 hitting percentage, compared to .000 for Felician.  Przywara and sophomore Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) recorded five kills apiece.
 
But the Golden Falcons rallied in the fourth with a 14-11 kills advantage and a .233 percentage.  The fifth set was all Felician, which recorded eight kills, just one error and a .318 percentage.
 
Przywara ended with 23 kills, moving her into third place in school history with 954 career.  She also had 11 digs for her eighth straight double-double.
 
Balderson also was in supplanting mode, getting an ace to give her 124 career and tie Kadi McCoy (2011-14) for seventh place in team annals.  She also closed with eight digs.
 
Boyce had 22 kills and nine digs, sophomore Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) notched career-bests of 52 assists and 21 digs with junior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR) recording a season-high 32 digs for the Lightning (4-9, 1-4 CACC).
 
Raamiah Edwards notched 17 kills and 17 digs, Sierra Gallagher amassed 36 digs, Miquela Martinez totaled 49 assists and 11 digs, Katie Asbery pounded 13 kills and Maddie Sloan added 11 for the Golden Falcons (7-12, 5-1 CACC).
 
Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday hits the road to face University of the Sciences for a 7:00 pm match in Philadelphia.
