Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Dealt 3-0 Loss at No. 8 Wilmington

Goldey-Beacom ran into another quality foe in eighth-ranked Wilmington (DE), leaving Newark with a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference setback.

Wilmington needed just over five minutes to open the scoring.  Fredrik Bentdal lifted a corner kick from the right toward a crowded goal line and Joe Bell was there to head it home for his seventh goal of the year.

The second Wildcats' goal also came via a corner kick, this time from the left side in the 32nd minute.  After the initial effort was denied in front, Lorne Bickley buried the rebound for his 23rd goal of the season and a 2-0 margin.

Abdul Mansasray made it 3-0 on a short-angle shot in the 68th minute.

Freshman Troy Fitzgerald (Bear, DE) made three saves for the Lightning (11-6, 8-3 CACC), who remain in second place in the CACC.

Bickley recorded five shots and Gabriel Prgomet amassed two saves for the Wildcats (15-1-1, 9-1-1).

Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday against Post for a 2:30 pm contest.
