Goldey-Beacom defeats Bloomfield 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match up in Wilmington, DE.Â
Goldey-Beacom struck early when junior Rose Benjamin (North East, MD.) played a through ball to senior Jenna Fannon (Newark, DE.) who finished the ball in the lower right corner. This was Fannon's 34th goal of the season which broke the school record for career goals.
The Lightning didn't stop there. In the 28th minute Fannon played a through ball to junior Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) who placed the ball in the bottom right corner for a 2-0 GBC lead midway through the first half.Â
In the 35th minute, Fannon had a break away and beat the keeper for her 35th career goal to put Goldey-Beacom up 3-0 at the end of the first half. Goldey-Beacom outshot Bloomfield 7-6 in the first half.
In the second half, both teams put up a fight but the score remained 3-0 at the end of the second half. The Lightning outshot Bloomfield 8-2 in the second half.Â
Kristoffersen had five shots and junior Kiera Young (Havre de Grace, MD.) had four shots for Goldey-Beacom. Noel Talbot (Marriottsville, MD.) had four saves for the Lightning.Â
Emily Quiroz had four shots for Bloomfield and Mia Phillips had three saves.Â
Goldey-Beacom is back in action on Tuesday against Wilmington (DE) at 3:30pm in Newark, DE.
