Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Handed 5-1 Setback at Jefferson

Goldey-Beacom played tough in a meeting of quality teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, but saw its three-game winning streak end with a 5-1 loss at Jefferson in Philadelphia, PA.

Goldey-Beacom wasted little time getting on the board, tallying in the fifth minute for a 1-0 lead.  Sophomore Melayna Immediato (Hockessin, DE) had a corner kick from the right side and placed a perfect ball to junior Kiera Young (Havre de Grace, MD), who put a great one-touch on it through a crowd and in for her third goal of the season and fourth career.

The Rams tied things in the 26th minute.  Laural Erick put a shot on cage that got away in front and MaryKate Ulmer was there for the rebound and a 1-1 contest.

Jefferson in the 43rd minute took the lead as Erick won a crazy scramble in front and was able to put it home for the tiebreaker.  The Rams got an insurance markers in the 67th minute on Kelsey Butler's shot just under the bar, in the 70th minute on Erick's second goal of the match and in the 84th minute on Dena Noiseux' tap in.

Junior Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) had four shots and freshman Noel Talbot (Marriottsville, MD) made eight saves for the Lightning (7-4-2, 6-2-1 CACC), who are 7-2-1 over their last 10 matches.

Erin Tinneny closed with eight saves for the Rams (9-3, 9-0).

Goldey-Beacom is right back at it Thursday with a non-conference game at Lincoln (PA), beginning at 6:00 pm.
