Volleyball More Than Impresses in 3-1 Loss to Georgian Court

The improvement of Goldey-Beacom's volleyball team continues to be evident with each match and again that was on display in a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (22-25, 25-18, 24-26, 23-25) to Georgian Court at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.

Goldey-Beacom played a hard-fought match against one of the area's top teams and more than held its own.  The second set bore witness to that with the Lightning getting 12 kills and a .345 hitting percentage, thanks to six kills from sophomore Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ).

The third set saw the Lions overcome just a .158 percentage to record 13 kills.  The Lightning in the fourth set had 14 kills and only four errors, but the Lions prevailed with a .387 percentage and only two errors.

Junior Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ) pounded 24 kills and now has 931 career, one behind Grace McCarthy (2013-16) for third place in team history.  Picked to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll this week, Przywara also had 10 digs for her seventh consecutive double-double.

Boyce pounded 19 kills, sophomore Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) recorded 42 assists and 10 digs with junior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR) adding 21 digs for the Lightning (4-8, 1-3 CACC).

Kinsy Haschke recorded 15 kills, Jaime Sweeney had 23 assists and Emily McCurley added 26 digs for the Lions (11-4, 4-1).

Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday against Felician, beginning at noon.
