Men’s Soccer Wins its Fourth Straight, 3-1 at Molloy



Goldey-Beacom overcame the long trip to Rockville Centre, NY, getting a goal and two assists from sophomore Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) in a 3-1 victory at Molloy for the squad's fourth consecutive triumph.
 
The first half saw the Lions get the upper hand in the 11th minute when Paul Morales tallied off a feed from Carlos Bonilla.  But the Lightning responded in the 40th minute when Coimbra received a pass from senior Nicolas Jaramillo (Cali, Colombia) and scored for his third goal of the season.
 
The second half was all Goldey-Beacom as it recorded an 8-1 shots edge and moved to 4-1-1 in its last six meetings with Molloy.
 
Junior Ethan Maguire (Sydney, Australia) ended up with the deciding marker, taking a cross from Coimbra and burying it for his second goal of the year.  Jaramillo added a big insurance tally in the 76th minute, getting a feed from Coimbra and chipping it over the goalkeeper for his second goal of the year.
 
Jaramillo now is tied for eighth in school history with 13 career assists and 39 points.  His 13 career goals have him one outside the top 10.
 
Coimbra ended with three shots to help GBC own a decided 13-5 edge.
 
Dennis Mehia made three saves for the Lions.
 
Goldey-Beacom this Saturday hosts Dominican (NY) at 3:30 pm, which follows the women's 1:00 pm contest to start the doubleheader.
