Goldey-Beacom defeats Felician, 4-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match up in Lyndhurst, NJ.

Goldey-Beacom took the early lead in the 8th minute when junior Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) passed the ball to junior Taylor Owen (Pittsburgh, PA.) who struck the ball in the back of the net for her first goal of the season. 

The Lightning kept their momentum rolling in the 33rd minute when a foul was drawn in the box for a penalty kick. Sophomore Jackie Ayers (Rising Sun, MD.) stepped up to take the kick and placed the ball into the back of the net. 

Goldey-Beacom ahead of Felician 2-0 at the end of the first half. Goldey-Beacom out shot Felician 15-2 in the first half and had 12 shots on goal.

In the second half, Goldey-Beacom and Felician continued to battle. The Lightning struck first in the second half when senior Jenna Fannon (Newark, Del.) freed herself from the Felicia Defense to rip a shot in the upper right corner in the 62nd minute. Goldey-Beacom with a 3-0 lead over Felician. 

Felician continued to fight but Goldey-Beacom kept up their momentum. In the 80th minute, Ayers played a quick cross down the goal line for Kristoffersen to one touch it into the back of the net for the Lightning to win 4-0.

Goldey-Beacom out shot Felician 10-3 in the second half. Fannon had seven shots and Kristoffersen had six shot for Goldey-Beacom.

Danielle Jenkins had two shots for Felician and Jamie Kazenmayer had 14 saves.

Goldey-Beacom is back in action on Tuesday for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match up against Holy Family at 3PM in Wilmington, DE.
