It was yet another solid week on the basketball court for Goldey-Beacom, which saw sophomores Alanna Speaks (Dover, DE) and Kyle Elliot (Rahway, NJ) each picked to their team's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Speaks averaged 17.5 points on 14-of-30 shooting and 8.0 rebounds over two games.  She netted a career-high 18 points and tied her personal best with 11 rebounds Wednesday in Goldey-Beacom's 71-66 victory over Chestnut Hill.  Speaks on Saturday poured in 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting with five rebounds Saturday in her squad's 58-51 victory over Concordia (NY).

One of the College's most gifted and hardest-working athletes, Speaks is fourth in the league with 37 offensive rebounds, 15th with 6.3 rebounds per game, 24th with 18 three-pointers, 25th with 11.3 points per contest and 25th a .393 shooting percentage.

The two-sport athlete this year was named first team All-CACC for women's soccer a second consecutive season, helping Goldey-Beacom (15-4, 11-1 CACC) to school records of most wins, most league wins, most home victories with nine and a team-record 63 goals.  Speaks in 2017 also was tabbed the CACC Rookie of the Year, CCA second team All-East Region and to the CACC All-Tournament Team.

Already climbing the record books, Speaks is tied for fifth in team history with 27 goals and sixth outright with 63 points.

Elliot averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals over two games.  He scored 20 points Saturday on 7-of-10 shooting with six rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers in Goldey-Beacom's 69-65 victory over Concordia (NY).  Elliot also had 16 points, three assists, two rebounds and two blocks Wednesday in the squad's 83-63 win over Chestnut Hill.

A welcomed addition to the program this year, Elliot is fourth in the league with a .559 field goal percentage, 13th with a .387 three-point percentage and 47th with 9.1 points per contest.  He has scored at least eight points eight times this season.

Both teams are in action Tuesday at Holy Family.  The women's game is at 5:30 pm and the men go at 7:30 pm.
