Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Rallies for 4-2 Win Over Felician

Goldey-Beacom netted three goals in the final 11 minutes to eradicate a one-goal deficit and leave Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington with a huge 4-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win over Felician.

Down 2-1 late in the match, the Lightning needed some instant offense and willed their way to a big goal.  Sophomore Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) got the ball in the 80th minute and fed a great pass to junior Nicolas Jaramillo (Cali, Colombia), who fired a 10-yard shot inside the right post for a tie game.

With extra time looming, Jaramillo did his part to make sure the game only went 90 minutes.  Senior Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Germany) used his speed to get open and fired a pass to Jaramillo, who blasted one from 10 yards into the net for his third goal of the season.  The 83rd-minute tally also was his ninth career goal and first career brace.

Coimbra finished the job with 58 seconds left, burying a penalty kick for his first goal as a member of the Blue and Gold.

Senior Suhail Bismilla (Johannesburg, South Africa) once again made it stand up with his control of the defense and timely saves.  One of those saves was a point-blank shot from Gabe Viana in the 22nd minute that kept GBC at a 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Ethan Maguire (Sydney, Australia) scored for the Lightning (1-3, 1-0 CACC) in the sixth minute before Maxi Ojeda netted a penalty kick in the 52nd minute and Chris McLaughlin scored 11 minutes later for a 2-1 Golden Falcons lead.

Maguire attempted five shots to help his side gain an 18-17 cushion.  Bismilla made seven saves.

Viana and Ojeda each had three shots and Joe Satori closed with seven saves for Felician (0-4-1, 0-1).

Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday hits the road for a league game at Holy Family, starting at 4:00 pm in Philadelphia.
