Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Falls, 1-0, at Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom was breached for an early second-half goal and was dealt a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss in an offensive struggle in Philadelphia, PA.

The shot total on both ends was low as the two sides found it tough to get an offensive flow.  Holy Family had a 7-4 edge with Will Stackhouse getting two attempts.

The first shot attempt in the second half by either side provided the lone tally.  Joel Richmond lifted a cross from the right side that was corralled by Mohamed Elgayar, who put it in the back of the net in the 48th minute for his first goal of the year.

The Lightning in the 90th minute had a chance to force extra time, but sophomore Joe Scarpinato (Middletown, DE) had his header stopped by Mark Tobin.

Senior Suhail Bismilla (Johannesburg, South Africa) made two saves for the Lightning (1-4, 1-1 CACC) and Tobin came up with two saves for the Tigers (2-3, 2-0).

Goldey-Beacom is on the road Saturday at Dominican (NY).  Please note the men's game now will start at noon and the women will go at 2:30 pm.
