Volleyball Dealt 3-0 Loss at Georgian Court



Goldey-Beacom opened play in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on a sour note with a 3-0 loss (15-25, 17-25, 19-25) at Georgian Court in Lakewood, NJ.
 
The Lightning could not withstand the near flawless play in the first set of the Lions, who had a .545 hitting percentage and just one error over 22 attacks.  GBC forced the home side into eight errors in the second set, but only could manage six kills.  Georgian Court in the third set amassed a .412 hitting percentage to close the match.
 
Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) totaled nine kills and six digs, fellow freshman Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) notched 13 assists and six digs with senior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) getting 13 assists and five digs for the Lightning (2-8, 0-1 CACC).
 
Peggy Rosario notched 12 kills and a .365 hitting percentage, Trilby Kite dished 14 assists and Emily McCurley recorded 14 digs for the Lions (4-3, 1-0).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home next Tuesday against Chestnut Hill, starting at 7:00 pm.
