Cross Country Competes at the Paul Short Invitational

It was yet another great performance against strong competition as Goldey-Beacom made its way to Lehigh University for the prestigious Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, PA.

Senior Jono Hooper (Brisbane, Australia) again paced the Lightning by closing 26th out of 292 runners in 27:14 over 8,000 meters. Senior Victor Rueda-Jimenez (Milford, DE) was 102nd in 28:48, Jason Hyland (Audubon, NJ) ran in 30:58, fellow sophomore Chauncey Nichols (New Castle, DE) stopped the clock in 30:59, senior Ronald Prescott (Middletown, DE) closed in 36:59 and sophomore Luis Rodriguez (New Castle, DE) finished in 37:09.

The men finished in 27th place with 708 points. Ramapo won with 105 points.

Junior Alivia Gillard (Manchester, England) led the women's side again by closing in 27:53 over 6,000 meters. Senior Mary Ann Jones (Frederick, MD) ran in 29:10, sophomore Cara Jones (Wilmington, DE) closed in 29:48, senior Juana Henao (Bogota, Colombia) ended in 29:55, senior Chelby McCall (Chesapeake City, MD) finished in 31:25 and sophomore Holly Tesoro (Milford, DE) ran in 32:52.

The women closed 40th with 1,161 points. Haverford won with 99 points.

Goldey-Beacom returns to the track October 13 at the Gettysburg Invitational in Gettysburg, PA.
