Volleyball Splits Two Matches at Ramfest



Goldey-Beacom ended its time at Ramfest with a 3-0 victory (25-15, 28-26, 25-15) over Salem after it was handed a 3-1 loss (15-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-6) by Franklin Pierce in West Chester, PA.
 
GBC in its match with Salem established momentum in the first set, gaining a 13-4 kills edge with a .241 hitting percentage and limiting its opponents to only -.125.  The Lightning finished with a 34-22 kills advantage and allowed just a .034 percentage in their second victory this season over the Tigers (0-9).
 
Sophomore Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ) had 14 kills, Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) recorded 12 and eight aces, fellow freshman Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) dished 16 assists and senior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) added 13 for the Lightning (2-6).
 
Amy Turbak notched 12 digs and Alaina Weltz added 11 assists for the Tigers.
 
The Lightning in their battle with the Ravens got back in the match during the third set with a 20-10 kills edge, thanks to Boyce's seven kills and Przywara's six.  But Franklin Pierce in the fourth set had nine kills and just one error to clinch the match.
 
Przywara recorded 19 kills and 12 digs, Boyce notched 11 and nine with Florence getting 27 assists for the Lightning.
 
Cierra Dolan amassed 13 kills, Marisa Lamb notched 14 digs and Mary Pease contributed 29 assists for the Ravens (2-7).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Tuesday to face East Stroudsburg at 7:00 pm.
