Goldey-Beacom stepped out of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play and was dealt a 3-0 loss (9-25, 7-25, 18-25) against Millersville University in Millersville, PA.
In the first set, the Lightning battled tough at the beginning but fell short. Freshman Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) recorded seven kills and sophomore Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ) had six. Millersville went on to have a .444 hitting percentage compared to the Lightning's .062 percentage.
In set three, the Lightning went on to rally back to keep it even. Millersville then pulled away to go on and win the set. Senior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) totaled nine assists and two digs and senior Megann Santiago (Levittown, NY) recorded five digs for the Lightning.
Kat Forry had eight digs and Katie Laughman had seven digs to go with 24 assists. Jayci Suseland had 14 kills for the Marauders.
The Lightning are on the road to Ramfest on Friday to face West Chester University at 2 PM and Fairmont State at 4 PM in West Chester, PA.
