Baseball Splits a Pair With Jefferson



Goldey-Beacom rolled to an 11-3 victory in game two of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against Jefferson following a 3-0 loss in the opener at Doyle Field in Hockessin, DE.
 
Senior Raul Perez-Duran (Trenton, NJ) in game two had three hits that included a two-run double during a five-run third inning.  Senior Keegan Marsden (Stratford, ON) had two hits, including a two-run single in the frame.
 
Junior Brandon Abdul (Old Bridge, NJ) and senior Edwin Lee (La Plata, MD) also had two hits in the finale.  Greentown, PA freshman Mitch Guerrieri (2-3), the reigning CACC Pitcher and Rookie of the Week, gave up two unearned runs and five hits over five innings with two strikeouts for the Lightning.
 
Patrick Hohlfeld (0-4) surrendered six runs and eight hits over 2 1/3 frames for the Rams.
 
Gunner Hayes (2-2) was the star for Jefferson in game one, striking out six over five innings and yielding just two hits.  C.J. Kilgarriff tossed a hitless ninth for his first save of the year.
 
Ryan Gonzalez lined an RBI double in the third to make it 2-0 Rams and followed suit in the seventh for the final.  Richard Joa also amassed two hits.
 
Abdul (1-4) pitched solidly in permitting three runs – one earned – and eight hits over seven innings with two strikeouts.  Marsden had a single in the opener and is riding a career-best seven-game hitting streak.
 
Goldey-Beacom's doubleheader at Concordia (NY) has been moved to Tuesday and will be a 1:30 pm start in Bronxville, NY.
