Mitch Guerrieri Picked CACC Pitcher and Rookie of the Week

A milestone performance by Goldey-Beacom freshman Mitch Guerrieri (Greentown, PA) allowed him to be picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Pitcher and Rookie of the Week.

Guerrieri on Saturday notched the first shutout and first nine-inning complete game since the program's reinstatement in Goldey-Beacom's 3-0 win over Bloomfield, completing a doubleheader sweep. He struck out seven, permitting just six hits and three walks for his first collegiate victory.

Guerrieri is off to a strong start in his seven appearances. He is first in the league with seven starts, 18th in games, fourth with 34 2/3 innings and sixth with 29 strikeouts.

Goldey-Beacom is home Tuesday against Chestnut Hill for a noon doubleheader in Hockessin, DE.
