Records, records and more records.  Just another day at the office for Goldey-Beacom's women's tennis team.

Goldey-Beacom broke the school record for its best start in school history and set an individual mark in its 9-0 victory over Millersville at the Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington.

The Lightning (12-0), ranked second in the East Region according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, bested their 11-0 start from a season ago.

Freshman Fredrika Regner (Langaryd, Sweden) also notched her 16th doubles victory over the season, teaming with sophomore Silvia Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) for an 8-1 triumph at second doubles over Haley Nauman and Kelley Hershey.  That breaks the team's single season mark that was shared by Filipa Correia (2012-13), Stephanie Puentes Robinson (2014-15) and Amina Mrad (2014-15).

Regner's previous 15 victories this season were shared with sophomore Anna Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain).

Freshmen Lotte Lesscher y Post (Arnhem, Netherlands) and Catarina Zheng (Oporto, Portugal), ranked fourth in the region, notched an 8-3 win at first doubles over Katina Jones and Megan Rovenolt with junior Manuela Cornejo (Quito, Ecuador) and sophomore Alma Garcia Valle (Valladolid, Spain) recording an 8-0 triumph at No. 3 doubles over Victoria Hanus and Lauren Weaver.

Lesscher y Post, regionally ranked ninth, got a 6-3, 6-0 win at first singles over Jones and Zheng, ranked 11th, notched a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 2 singles over Rovenolt.  Anna Hortelano Pey, ranked 12th, rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at third singles over Nauman and Regner got a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles vs. Hanus.

Garcia Valle posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles over Hershey and Silvia Hortelano Pey won by the same score at No. 6 singles over Emily Borger for the Marauders (0-11).

Goldey-Beacom is scheduled to be home Tuesday against West Chester for a 3:30 pm match at the Delcastle Tennis Center.  Please check our website (gbcathletics.com) and Twitter (@GBCLightning) for any weather updates.
