Corey Taite and Dwayne Dixon Picked to CACC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Another strong showing for Goldey-Beacom's Men's Basketball team saw senior Corey Taite (Sayreville, NJ) and junior Dwayne Dixon (Newark, NJ) each named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Taite scored 17 points to go with four rebounds, three 3-pointers, and two steals over 40 minutes Sunday in Goldey-Beacom's 69-66 loss to Merrimack.

In yet another solid campaign, the reigning CACC Player of the Year and first team all-region pick has scored in double figures every game this season. He is 50th in the country with 20.5 points per game, ninth with 72 free throws, 41st with 35.7 minutes per contest, 44th with an .889 free throw percentage and 61st with 225 points.

Taite is first in team history with 1,461 points, tied for first with 452 field goals, second overall with 320 assists, second with 390 free throws, third with 186 steals, third with 167 three-pointers and fifth with 444 rebounds.

Dixon hauled in 15 rebounds Sunday in addition to getting nine points and four assists.

Dixon has been an incredible addition to the squad, giving the Lightning strong play in the post on both sides of the court. He has scored in double figures four times this year, including 16 points and 14 rebounds December 19 against Jefferson.

He is 44th in the league with 9.8 points per game, 10th with 7.1 rebounds per contest, 11th with a .513 field goal percentage and 39th with 108 points.

Goldey-Beacom (5-6, 3-0 CACC) had a four-game winning streak before Sunday and earlier in the campaign played three opponents (Bentley, Saint Anselm, Saint Thomas Aquinas) which all have been nationally ranked at some point this season.

GBC is home Wednesday against Chestnut Hill in an 8:00 pm CACC South Division contest. The women's game between the same schools begins at 6:00 pm.
