Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Handed 2-0 Loss at Bloomfield

Goldey-Beacom once again tried its best to get on track, but was breached for a pair of first-half goals in a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss at Bloomfield in Bloomfield, NJ.

The Bears got on the board first in the ninth minute when Arman Bashiri converted a penalty kick to make it 1-0.  The Lightning hoped the deficit would be no more than that heading into the locker room, but Bashiri did it again by netting his fifth of the season with 5:02 left in the half for a 2-0 margin.

Bloomfield's defense just would not allowing anything for the visitors.  Goldey-Beacom got just two shots in the second half and could not take advantage of three corner kicks.

Nicholas Ladeira (Johannesburg, South Africa) had two shots and fellow sophomore Cole Lewis (Middletown, DE) made six saves for the Lightning (3-9-1, 2-5-1 CACC).

Bashiri recorded six shots and Alex Idrovo amassed four saves for the Bears (3-7, 2-5).

Goldey-Beacom hits the road Tuesday to face Chestnut Hill.  Game time at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School is 7:00 pm.
