Senior Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Hermany) scored in the second half to give Goldey-Beacom a 1-0 win over Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Colligate Conference match up in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
Goldey-Beacom and Chestnut Hill battled in the first half but it remained scoreless. The Lightning out shot Chestnut Hill 11-10 in the first half.
Both teams continued to battle in the second half. In the 66th minute Goldey-Beacom gets a free kick off a foul by Chestnut Hill. The initial shot did was blocked, but Aghrim took a shot off of the deflection in the box to score.
The Lightning outshot Chestnut Hill 12-7 in the second half.
Sophomore Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) had five shots, sophomore Nicholas Ladeira (Johannesburg, South Africa) recorded four and senior Callum Flynn (Guildford, England) attempted three shots for the Lightning. Sophomore Cole Lewis (Middletown, DE.) made three saves for Goldey-Beacom.
Pedro Dutra attempted five shots, Andrew Johnstone, Jason Doherty, and Tales Domingues all attempted three shots for Chestnut Hill. Frank Maniscalco mad six saves for Chestnut Hill.
Goldey-Beacom Men's Soccer team is home Saturday against Concordia (NY) for a doubleheader with the Women's team in Wilmington, DE. The women kick off at 12:30 pm and the men kick off at 3:00 pm.
