Volleyball Falls, 3-0, to Holy Family



Goldey-Beacom fell to Holy Family 3-0 (11-25, 13-25, 23-25) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match up in Philadelphia, PA.

Holy Family struck first in set one going on a five-point scoring streak. The Tigers had a 12-5 kill advantage and held the Lightning to a -.100 hitting percentage.

Goldey-Beacom and Holy Family battled in the second set, but the Lightning fell short. Holy Family went on a six-point scoring streak to clinch the set. Holy Family had a 15-6 kill advantage.

Set three was a back and forth game but the Tigers went on a nine-point scoring streak to take the set. Goldey-Beacom had an 8-7 kill advantage but Holy Family held the Lightning to a -.036 hitting percentage.  Holy Family took all three sets to win the game 3-0.

Sophomore Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, N.J.) had 11 kills and freshman Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, N.J.), the reigning CACC Player and Rookie of the Week, amassed five for the Lightning. Senior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, Va.) recorded nine assists and five digs, Courtney Bublitz (North East, Md.) totaled nine digs and Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, Nev.) had four for Goldey-Beacom.

Chase Wassel had 12 kills and Jamie Bonner and Gianna Pesognelli both had nine kills for Holy Family. Morgan Silks had 21 assists and Courtney Heaney had 12 for the Tigers. Jillian Boyle had 12 digs and Wassel had nine for Holy Family.

Goldey-Beacom is back in action Saturday vs. Georgian Court at noon in Wilmington, DE. Saturday also is Senior Day for the Lightning.
