Goldey-Beacom beat Dominican 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-16) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match in Orangeburg, NY.
Goldey-Beacom went on a six-point scoring streak to go ahead of Dominican (NY) in set one. Dominican (NY) battled back going on an eight-point scoring streak but fell short. The Lightning took set one with a 13-8 kill advantage over the Chargers.
Goldey-Beacom took an early lead in the second set going on a six-point scoring streak. The Lightning took set two with a 10-4 kill advantage and held Dominican (NY) to a -.152 hitting percentage.
The Lightning continued to put the pressure on Dominican (NY) with a 17-3 kill advantage in the third set. Goldey-Beacom held the Chargers to a zero hitting percentage to take set three.
Freshman Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, N.J.) had 13 kills, sophomore Lindsay Przywara (Willamstown, N.J.) had 12 kills and freshman Julia Syrdahl (Basking Ridge, N.J.) had 10 for the Lightning. Senior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, Va.) had 19 assists and freshman Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, Nev.) had 13 for Goldey-Beacom. Przywara recorded 12 digs and sophomore Courtney Bublitz (North East, Md.) had 10 digs for the Lightning.
Deanna Knopf had five kills, Malia Robinson and Gabrielle Napoleon both had four kills for Dominican (NY). Lily Ainsworth had six assists, Knopf had 11 digs, Natalia Perez and Mykalee Chambers both had nine digs for the Chargers.
