Goldey-Beacom once again displayed a successful athletics week with five of its student-athletes picked for weekly honors by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) was named the Women's Soccer Player of the Week, fellow senior Marta Lopez (Valencia, Spain) was tabbed the sport's Goalkeeper of the Week and freshman Melayna Immediato (Hockessin, DE) was picked to the Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll.  Freshman Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) was named to Volleyball's Weekly Honor Roll and freshman Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) was tabbed to the Women's Tennis Weekly Honor Roll.

Crammond ended her standout week with four goals and two assists over two games.  She recorded two goals and an assist Wednesday at Chestnut Hill in a 4-0 win before getting the same totals Saturday vs. Concordia (NY) in a 9-0 triumph, helping GBC (12-3, 9-1 CACC) break the school record with its ninth league victory.

Enjoying one of the top careers for a Goldey-Beacom student-athlete in any sport, Crammond is third in school history with 75 points, tied for third with 17 assists and tied for third with 29 goals.  Her 11 goals this season are tied for the sixth-best total in team annals and her 27 points are sixth.

Crammond also is 17th in the country with 11 goals, 18th with 27 points, 41st with 1.8 points per game, 45th with 0.73 goals per match and 47th with three game-winning goals.

Lopez, named Goalkeeper of the Week for a third time, finished 2-0 on the week with seven saves and one shutout.  She made five saves Wednesday at Chestnut Hill and then had two over 67 minutes Saturday vs Concordia (NY).

Recording a solid run over just two seasons, Lopez is sixth in school history with 121 saves.  She also is ninth in the country this season with 1,305 minutes.

Immediato had a goal and two assist over two games, with all of those points coming Saturday vs Concordia (NY).  She already is 18th in the nation with seven assists, 36th with 0.50 assists per game, 39th with 23 points and 61st with eight goals.

It is Immediato's third appearance on the Weekly Honor Roll after being named the league's Player and Rookie of the Week on September 4.

Boyce finished her week with 32 kills and 12 digs over two matches.  She notched 13 kills Tuesday at Jefferson before getting 19 to go with a .241 hitting percentage Saturday vs. Wilmington (DE).

Boyce has made an immediate splash by sitting 84th in the nation with 246 kills and 86th with 28 aces.  This is her third selection on the Weekly Honor Roll and she was picked the league's Rookie of the Week on August 27.

Bruno went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles over two matches.  She got a 6-0, 6-0 win Wednesday at No. 3 singles vs. Holy Family before triumphs at fourth singles Friday against Concordia (NY) and Saturday vs. University of the Sciences.  Bruno also teamed with junior Silvia Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) for a 6-0 victory at second doubles vs. Holy Family before pairing with freshman Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) for a 6-2 win Sunday at University of the Sciences.

All of this helped the Lightning (8-1, 7-1 CACC) clinch the CACC regular-season title a third straight year and the number two seed for the conference tournament.  They will be in the semifinals Saturday at 1:00 pm in Middlebury, CT against either third-seeded Concordia (NY) or six-seeded Jefferson.

Bruno is 10-3 in singles this season, tied for the most wins on the team, and 7-1 in doubles.  She is on a six-match winning streak in singles.
