Volleyball Rolls to 3-0 Triumph Over Dominican (NY)



Goldey-Beacom rode the coattails of several outstanding performances to cruising to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-13) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win over Dominican (NY) at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Lightning in the first set amassed a .370 hitting percentage with 13 kills and upped their game in the second, totaling .394 and 16.  The home side in the final set notched a .381 percentage with nine kills and just one error.
 
Freshman Breanne Haley (Elkton, MD), named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll, totaled nine kills, seven aces and six digs.  Senior Jada Canteen (Newark, DE) had nine kills and no errors for an .818 hitting percentage, sophomore Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) notched 14 digs, freshman Sydney Fulton (Wilmington, DE) recorded 19 assists and junior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) added 14 for the Lightning (5-9, 4-2 CACC).
 
Deanna Knopf pounded eight kills, Essence Boyd notched 14 assists and Natalia Perez added 12 digs for the Chargers (0-15. 0-6).
 
Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday entertains Georgian Court to continue its three-match homestand.  Match time is 7:00 pm.
