Goldey-Beacom was handed a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (8-25, 17-25, 26-28) at Holy Family in Philadelphia, PA.

From the opening serve, the Tigers (6-5, 2-0 CACC) proved too much for the Lightning (2-8, 1-1) opening with a 17-4 lead in the first set.

The Tigers resisted defeat winning more kills (27-42), hitting percentage (.176 - .382), assists (25-39) and digs (36-47).

Leading contributors for the Lightning included freshman Breanne Haley with 11 kills, sophomore Makinsie Balderson with 22 assists and freshman Morgan Andrews with 11 digs.  Haley earlier in the day was named CACC Rookie of the Week for the second time this year.

Holy Family received maximum effort from multiple players including Chase Wassel with 12 kills and eight digs, Carly Covington with 11 kills and 11 digs, Natalie Stewart with 19 assists and Jillian Boyle with 15 digs.

Goldey-Beacom will play its next match at Jefferson University on Friday. The opening serve is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
