Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Handed 2-1 Loss by Felician

Goldey-Beacom played a hard-fought Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at Felician, only to be handed a 2-1 loss in Lyndhurst, NJ.

The Lightning's impeccable front line once again was on display in the fourth minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.  Junior Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Germany) put a cross towards cage that senior Fernando Sanchez (Madrid, Spain) directed home for his team-leading fifth goal of the year.

Sanchez' 16th career goal moves him into a tie with Andre Jank (2010-13) for sixth place in school history and his 38 career points are seventh.  Aghrim's 13th career assist puts him in a four-way tie for sixth place in team annals.

Felician got the equalizer in the 65th minute when Chris McLaughlin took a pass from Leo Yang and buried it for a 1-1 draw.

The Golden Falcons went a man down in the 77th minute due to a red card, but still took the lead in the 85th minute on Yang's penalty kick.

Sanchez ended with three shots and junior Suhail Bismilla (Johannesburg, South Africa) made four saves for the Lightning.

Gabe Viana attempted three shots and John Burns came up with two saves for the Golden Falcons (3-3, 2-1).

Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday makes the short trip to Newark to face Wilmington (DE).  Match time is 4:00 pm.
