Women’s Volleyball Falls, 3-0, to Shepherd



Goldey-Beacom faced a major challenge against Shepherd in the opener of the Kutztown Classic and was handed a 3-0 setback (20-25, 20-25, 11-25) in Kutztown, PA.
 
The Lightning entered the match with just nine healthy players and could not contain the Rams, who won their third straight.  Shepherd held a slim 26-25 kills edge, but recorded 10 blocks.
 
Freshman Breanne Haley (Elkton, MD) continued to be a focal point for GBC, ending with nine kills and 12 digs.  Sydney Fulton (Wilmington, DE) notched 22 assists, fellow freshman Morgan Andrews (Wilmington, DE) had 11 digs and senior Jax Babezki (Warrington, PA) amassed five kills for the Lightning (2-5).
 
Cambriea Hill had eight kills, Jessica Karcz recorded 18 assists, Imani Major notched 17 digs and Seone Goode added 10 for the Rams (7-1).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday play host Kutztown at 9:00 am and West Chester at 3:30 pm.
