Volleyball Handed 3-1 Loss at East Stroudsburg



Goldey-Beacom nearly forced a fifth set after dropping the first two, but was handed a 3-1 loss (19-25, 16-25, 25-23, 23-25) by East Stroudsburg in East Stroudsburg, PA.
 
The Lightning (1-3) in the third set owned a 16-11 kills edge and posted a .233 hitting percentage to force a fourth set.  But the Warriors (5-2) in the finale notched a .293 percentage and held the visitors to just .122.
 
More than a week off did not bother GBC freshman Breanne Haley (Elkton, MD), who again went on a tear with 21 kills and 20 digs for her fifth straight double-double.  Sydney Fulton (Wilmington, DE) dished 39 assists, fellow freshman Morgan Andrews (Wilmington, DE) recorded 22 digs, senior Jax Babezki (Warrington, PA) notched 10 kills and sophomore Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) added 12 digs for the Lightning.
 
Desiree Claxton amassed 15 kills and 13 digs, Erica Cunningham dished 41 assists, Rosa Veliky had 31 digs and Sam Dunphy added 13 for the Warriors, who ended with a .234 percentage and a slight 50-48 kills edge.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday travels to Chestnut Hill for a 7:00 pm Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
