The first-half barrage started in the 10th minute when junior Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Germany) scored his sixth goal of the season and continued in the 29th minute when freshman Alejandro Varela (Cali, Colombia) found the back of the net from 20 yards.

Varela in 31st minute got his fourth of the season and first career brace when he put home a loose ball to make it 3-0.  Senior Artur Zvinchuk (Bonn, Germany) then netted his third of the season and sixth career in the 35th minute for the halftime score.
