Volleyball Notches 3-0 Victory Over Bloomfield

Goldey-Beacom mounted an incredible second-set rally en route to a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory (25-16, 26-24, 26-24) over Bloomfield at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.

Down 22-19 in the second, the Lightning ended it with a stunning 7-2 run to grab a two-set lead.  Freshman Breanne Haley (Elkton, MD), the reigning CACC Rookie of the Week, had two kills during that run and closed the set with an ace.

Bloomfield looked in control in that set with just two errors, but was on the wrong end of a 15-10 kills edge.  GBC held a 13-10 kills advantage in the third, closing with a 44-27 overall cushion.

Haley ended with 14 kills and 15 digs for her 11th double-double of the season.  Sophomore Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) notched 10 kills, freshman Morgan Andrews (Wilmington, DE) posted 14 digs, junior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) dished 21 assists and freshman Sydney Fulton (Wilmington, DE) added 18 for the Lightning (6-10, 5-3 CACC).

Jandra Fabian tried her best with 21 kills and 59 attacks with the remainder of the Bears (5-11, 4-4) getting 31 attacks.  Junelly Marrero had 27 assists, Delanie Cruz notched 15 digs and Kiersten Coho added 11.

Goldey-Beacom is on the road Saturday to visit Post for a 6:00 pm match in Waterbury, CT.
