Volleyball Dealt Heartbreaking 3-2 Loss at Post



Goldey-Beacom gave its all playing against one of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's top teams, but in the end was dealt a tough 3-2 loss (25-22, 17-25, 25-22, 12-25, 7-15) at Post in Waterbury, CT.
 
Sophomore Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) ended with 15 kills, 10 digs and five aces for her first career double-double, but it was not enough in just the sixth five-set match over the last three years for the Lightning (6-11, 5-4 CACC).
 
Freshman Breanne Haley (Elkton, MD) amassed her 12th double-double of the season with 13 kills and 10 digs, senior Jax Babezki (Warrington, PA) pounded 11 kills, freshman Sydney Fulton (Wilmington, DE) had 22 assists and junior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) added 17.
 
Brianna Root dished 46 assists, Madison Hunziker had 19 kills and 16 digs, Sarah Ryder notched 20 digs and Sarah Seger added 13 for the Eagles (9-9, 7-1).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday heads to Philadelphia to face University of the Sciences for a 7:00 pm match.
