Unbeaten CACC Run for Women’s Soccer Ends With Loss at Jefferson

Goldey-Beacom's looked to remain undefeated and untied in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, but that came to an end with a 1-0 loss at Jefferson in Philadelphia, PA.

GBC (8-2-1, 6-1 CACC) still remains on its best start in the league as it fewest conference losses in a season is two, accomplished in 2001 and 2002.  It now is tied for second place in the league with Holy Family (6-1), one game in back of Georgian Court (7-0).

The Rams (6-4, 5-2) got the early goal in the 12th minute.  Sarah Patrignani had the ball in the middle of the field and fed it on the right side to Emily Discavage, who buried it inside the far post for her first goal of the season.

Junior Marta Lopez (Valencia, Spain) did her best with eight saves, including six after intermission for the Lightning.  Senior Elena Power (Glassboro, NJ) recorded two shots.

Dena Noiseux came off the bench to attempt four shots and Erin Tinneny had three saves for Jefferson.

Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday against Nyack as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.  Please note the women's game starts at 12:30 pm and the men go at 3:00 pm.
