Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Squanders Late Lead at Jefferson

After holding a two-goal lead with 15 minutes to go in regulation, Goldey-Beacom exhausted its efforts in a 2-2 draw at first-place Jefferson University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match in Philadelphia, PA.

Freshman Nicholas Ladeira (Johannesburg, South Africa) continued his wizardry with a rebound goal off the crossbar in the 25th minute giving the Lightning a 1-0 lead.

Senior Mateus Silvestre (Picarras, Brazil) helped Goldey-Beacom take a 2-0 lead in the 76th minute and seemingly put the game out of reach.

Both goals from the Lightning (8-3-1, 4-2-1 CACC) were assisted by junior Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Germany).

Jefferson (7-2-1, 6-0-1) responded to Silvestre's kick with two swift goals of its own scored by Jason Rocha in the 78th and Val Mokrejs in the 80th minute).

Junior Suhail Bismilla (Johannesburg, South Africa) recorded eight saves for the Lightning.

Goldey-Beacom plays its next match versus Nyack on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 pm at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.
