Cliona Crammond’s Extra-Time Goal Lifts Women’s Soccer to 1-0 Win at Queens

Junior Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) found the back of the net 4:53 into extra time, helping Goldey-Beacom end its regular season with a 1-0 victory at Queens (NY) in Flushing, NY.

Crammond took advantage of a free kick and buried it inside the bottom right corner for her career-best seventh goal of the season.  She now is tied for seventh in school history with 17 goals and remains 10th overall with 45 points.

The Lightning (11-4-2) owned both shots in overtime and won despite being outshot 16-12 overall that included 8-2 in the first half.  Junior Marta Lopez (Valencia, Spain) played the first half and overtime, ending with six saves.

Erin Vernillo attempted eight shots and Nicole Cranny amassed five saves for the Knights (4-10-2).

Goldey-Beacom is the number four seed for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament and is home Tuesday against fifth-seeded Jefferson, beginning at 2:00 pm.  It marks the first time the program has hosted a conference tournament game in consecutive years.
